Week 40

CARLSBAD ZONE!!!!! The ward we cover is technically in Oceanside but we live in Carlsbad! Thank you for all the prayers because we are on the coast haha!

I have the greatest companion EVER!! Her name is Sister 'Eliesa and she's from an island in Tonga called Vava'u. I love her so much already! She's so good at following the spirit. Every night I'm scrambling to write down everything I remember her saying/doing. Everything she does is to align her will with God's! She's also a VERY diligent missionary. She works hard and finds lots of joy in the work!!

This week was the first time it's been pouring raining since I've been here. It actually only rained 2 or 3 of the days but I loved every second. On Thursday we were out all day going between lessons and finding. By the end, everything we were wearing/our hair was soaking wet and it was awesome! Again, Sister 'Eliesa is amazing at following the spirit so it was really cool to see how she does missionary work. Definently one of my favorite days in the field!!

A few weeks ago when we were in the temple, I had the distinct prompting to recieve a priesthood blessing for my head. Clearly I need to be humbled more because it took me until Saturday to actually ask for one and wow, my testimony of blessings grew so much!! I'd been reading my patriarchal blessing the night before, and everything said in the priesthood blessing aligned with it. A few things really clicked. Guys, Heavenly Father knows us!! He is so aware. We're given experiences so He can show us His power as we turn to Him!

Some highlights:
☆ said goodbye to lots of friends/members on Tuesday. It was tragic but I'll see them again!
☆ had the greatest last lesson with Aubrey
☆ Sister 'Eliesa telling me all about her island
☆ did high fit this morning with lots of members! They do it every Monday yayaya. I miss dance.
☆ 9 months wooooooo!!
☆ galentine's with the Sisters
☆ ELDER SOARES is coming to our mission on February 28th!!!! That's Heavenly Father's bday present to me. Haha jk but I'm SO EXCITED!!

Surprise it's Wednesday. Our pday was switched because we got to go to the temple today!! I miss being able to go to the temple whenever. We're assigned a day every other transfer. This week was one of my favorites so far. The hard parts made it even better which I'll talk more about later. I went on an exchange with Sister Thomas (the new Sister in our zone) and it was awesome! Two little missionaries hanging out all day. She goes home the same transfer as me because I'm assigned 13 so we're in this thing together. We had zone conference and San Clemente had interviews with President/Sister Carter, so I got to see them a lot! Have I mentioned they're the greatest? Wow okay Sunday!! This sounds dramatic but it could've been my favorite day on the mission so far. We had a lesson with a marine named Wetterman on Saturday (which he brought his friend Williamson to) and they both showed up to church the next day! Week 19

Hiiii everyone! I love my mission. Update on Cricket is that she's been quite unresponsive what?! Homecoming was this past week and let me tell you the high schools here go ALL OUT for everything- especially dances. So she was really living up the homecoming week, attended a few youth activites (which we didn't know about until after the fact), and therefore did not meet with us. She still wants to get baptized on the 28th which is the funny thing. We were like okay Cricket, in order for you to be prepared for your baptism we need to have at least 5 more lessons because we have so much to teach still. She got the memo but then didn't get the memo and we didn't have a single lesson. In conclusion, baptism is happening but probably getting pushed back which is still a win. Luisa is my favorite. I love her so much. She loves the gospel of Jesus Christ! She's been an amazing example to me of being eager to learn more. We send her lots of chapters/general conference talk...
