Week 35
Wowow it's been a long week. Really good and really packed! We had zone conference on Thursday which was awesome as always. We're starting a new thing where we set transferly key indicator goals along with our normal weekly goals so we can see our areas biggest needs as the weeks go on. I'm excited to see the impact it has on our mission and the work!
Our new mission President for July was anncounced, and I'm excited to have two different ones but I can't imagine a mission without President Carter. You'd think after 2.5 years of serving he'd be ready to go home, but it seems like now that it's 2025 he's got even more drive and determination.
We almost got eaten alive by someone's dog that was more like a wolf. A wolf dog. All you have to know is through the power of prayer and the grace of God, we made it out alive and made the owner a friend! The trauma was worth the teaching opportunity.
Last night we met with our friend GC (God's Choice) from Nigeria. He's been living with a family in our ward for two years, and is here because he has a scholarship for basketball at the high school. It was one of my favorite lessons ever. Probably neck and neck with the lesson with Vicki, Greg, and Bailey a few weeks ago. He has such strong faith and an amazing testimony. He grew up very Christian, and has loved coming to our church. He believes in the Book of Mormon and the restoration of the gospel! We asked him if he wanted to be baptized, and he said he did but would have to talk with his parents about it first! The spirit was so strong and he strengthened our testimonies immensely.
We get to go to the temple in a month and I'm SO EXCITED. Yesterday in young womens, a leader talked about the law of consecration. Consecration is dedicating something to a sacred or holy purpose, and she talked about how this can be with anything. There were a lot of dancers in the room, so she was talking about how you can even consecrate something like dance practice. You can dedicate that time to God by being a light to those around you and emulating his love. She went on to say how in the temple, we covenant to consecrate our whole self. It made me think about how being a missionary isn't the only opportunity I get to be fully consecrated. Each of our daily activites and events can be! We can choose to consecrate our whole self, and we even make a covenant to do so! Sooo my invite is to think about an aspect of life you can more fully consecrate and give over to God!!
