Week 34

Holaaaa amigos. We just got back from the beach and that always makes me so happy. We didn't go on the sand of course but we found some rocks to stand on hahaha. It's been a short week with Wednesday pday but it's honestly felt so long.

All you have to know is this transfer is going to be awesome!! Sister Dudley has pickleball paddles and spikeball so we've been doing some apartment sports. We also have a comp goal of "apartment band" because we have two ukuleles and a piano. We'll have a concert that everyone can come to on the other side of the mission.

Our friends are doing well! The holidays being over is kind of a win because they were all very busy. We had a few friends come to church and are excited to keep helping them feel the spirit!

We were able to see lots of mission friends this week! Friday was MLC and yesterday I conducted the "temple music devotional" our mission puts on. Missionaries can come if they bring a friend or are participating, so it was fun being with all those people. Sister Miller (my trainee) just started training and I got to meet her new comp! It made me realize that I'm getting a little older in the mission which is weird because I feel like I'll be new forever. I also saw Sister Hill (my trainer) for the last time before she goes home. Rest in peace.

As a zone, we read "100% Responsible" which is a favorite BYU speech of mine. We talked about the anti-responsibility list and how we can counteract each principle. There's a principle that I've been working on, and the word someone used to counteract it was Charity. It surprised me because I didn't think Charity was the opposite of that principle, but it made me reflect a lot and was led to another of my fav BYU speeches "What if love were our only motive?" The speaker says, "Love is one of the most powerful positive forces in existence. It is one of the strongest statements in all of scripture, and it occurs twice in Moroni: "If ye have not charity, ye are nothing.'" Charity, or the pure love of Christ, is the answer to many of our own needs and the needs of people around us. Having love be my only motive is something I'm continually striving to develop, and I'm so grateful for the perfect example Jesus Christ set to look up to.

Anywho I love you all very much! Hope those goals are still going well. Adios!!
