Week 33

We had to drop off Sister Brown at the temple on Thursday. I've never been sad at a temple before then. The Sisters in my zone picked me up and we were off to "thrio" life as Sister Christensen calls it. I slept at their apartment every night, but was boucning between them and the Hermanas every other day. No, I didn't learn any Spanish. My goal was to learn how to say a simple testimony in Spanish but alas, it didn't happen. I did sit through a few Spanish lessons and pretended to know what was happening though.

Sunday was wild. I took the sacrament 4 different times. Is that even legal?? The Utah missionaries probably do it all the time. The APs said this was a one time exception where I could have a member be my companion, so my favorite Sister Porter picked me up and took me to church. It was the weirdest experience. Then she dropped me off at another building and I sat through a meeting with people I didn't even know. Needless to say I'm excited to get a companion back. Overall good times though.

The Sisters got sick on Saturday, and I thought I was doing so awesome at not getting sick until of course, it hit me. I've been trying not to say too much about it on these emails, but I've basically been sick this whole transfer. Staying in is the worst so we've just been working through it, but this time since they were both sick too, we stayed in yesterday. Not the vibe but I know it could be a lot worse so I'm grateful.

I've been studying the Atonement of Jesus Christ just as I promised, and something I loved from "The Infinite Atonement" says, "The Atonement is not just a prime teaching of the gospel; it is the heart of the gospel. It infuses life into every doctrine, every principle, and every ordinance, transforming what might otherwise be a lofty but nonetheless lifeless ideal, to a vibrant spiritual truth." The Atonement is everything! I'm still trying to grasp the vastness of it, but I know it truly is the "heart of the gospel" and everything else is just an appendage to it as Joseph Smith said.

I hope you all have a wonderful first week of 2025. I got my new comp today...Sister Dudly!!!!! She was in my zone when I was in San Clem so we went on exchanges all the time!! I'm so excited to be with her. We're going to baptize nations.
