Week 32
Merry Christmas!!! It feels like forever since I've been able to write an email so I don't know where to begin. Today has been so fun! We had a zone activty and made gingerbread houses!! Ours was so good. It was a beach house with a surfer guy and somehow we didn't get in the top 3?! Lmk. We went to a members house for breakfast and dinner which was awesome. Then I got to talk with family! They sent me the cutest gifts to open. I seriously have the greatest family in the world!!
Yesterday, we wrote a ton of Christmas letters to our friends. There are so many amazing parts to missionary work, but writing those letters made me realize how much I love to testify of Jesus Christ and how far that testimony has come since being here. It was one of those overwhelming moments of joy where you take a step back and get a small glimpse of seeing the beginning from the end as Heavenly Father does. We did lots of letter drop offs and went to the San Clemente pier to go caroling with the members!! I will never get used to seeing the ocean. I could stay for hours and hours just looking at it. Beyond grateful to be serving here.
We've all heard that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season, and being here has really put that into perspective for me. I have been filled with joy this season as I've served and had a focus on the greatest gift of all. People say there's nothing like being on a mission during Christmas and it's true. There is too much that has happened recently and I don't want to spend time writing, but all you have to know is I love my Savior. I'm so grateful for where I'm at and am excited to keep changing through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
President Nelson said this in his last general conference talk: "I urge you to devote time each week—for the rest of your life—to increase your understanding of the Atonement of Jesus Christ." Guys President Nelson knows what he's talking about so I'm taking this to heart and invite you all to do the same.
This is Sister Brown and I's last night together. She goes to the temple and mission home tomorrow, then goes home Friday. Transfers aren't until Jan 1st so I'll just be floating around. I'm hopping between the Sisters and Hermanas in our zone for a week and it'll be an adventure!! Wish me luck.
