Week 26
We had a great week! The sun is shining so it doesn't feel like November. I miss the seasons but happy for the warmth as a missionary.
Julian's update is that he can't remember for the life of him not to drink coffee. It's interesting the things he remembers and the things he doesn't. Every time we see him with coffee we're like "Julian! Remember the Word of Wisdom?" And every time he says "Oh I thought I just had to quit smoking." He feels bad and wants to prepare for his baptism so please pray for his brain to remember.
When we were on an exchange this week, we felt like we should go visit Jan earlier than we'd planned. We got to her house and knocked on her door for a while but didn't think we should leave. We finally heard her say "help" so we went in and she'd fallen really badly. She was stuck between her couch and side door, and seemed to have hit her head really hard. We called an ambulance and they took her to the hospital. First, I'm so grateful for promptings of the spirit. Second, I'm excited to be a nurse hahahaha I mean clearly the situation was not great (Jan is fine now, she's back home) but I was like yep this is pretty chill.
I was reading in Jacob this week and chapter 5 really resonated with me. We read about a constant effort from the Lord of the vineyard and His servant nourishing and strengthening the vineyard. I learned so much about Christ's character when verses 41, 47, and 49 say, "What could I have done more for my vineyard?"
2 Nephi 26:24 has always been a favorite verse of mine that goes along with this: "He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for he loveth the world, even that he layeth down his own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that they shall not partake of his salvation." Everything Jesus Christ has and still does is for us! You and I! He will not let us fall if we just let Him catch us. I'm so grateful for my Savior.
