Week 20

I don't really want to write today but I know once I get started I won't know how to stop so let's get into this week woooo.

Cricket my girl. She still wasn't responding to us so we went to go knock down her door and her grandma answered. She was so excited to see us and was like come in come in!! She said that Cricket was on a call with some lawyer and has about 7 phone calls a day with them. (I don't know if I've said this before, but she was in foster care before moving in with her grandma about 4 weeks ago). She came out to talk to us and is SO SWEET as always. She's just been insanely busy with having to skip school to go to court and deal with all that. She said she wants to keep coming to church/mutual and really wants to be baptized, it's just a matter of when. We're going to teach her when she comes to those and get her ready soon!!!

Jan is my favorite lady haha. She's been wanting more experiences with the spirit and God provided! She was able to accomplish something big and recognized that it was the Holy Ghost helping her do this thing. She's so ready. I'm SO excited for her!!!

Vickie and Greg are doing well! They've been out of town so nothing super new on that front but we'll be meeting with them this week!

Luisaaaaaa. We taught her the Word of Wisdom and the Law of Chastity in one lesson and could've been the most spirit filled lesson I've had on my mission. Our member canceled so we were scrambling to find another and ended up asking a member we hadn't met before. She was PERFECT for the lesson. God is good.

Annie is another progressing friend. She's been to church so many times but her roadblock is we'll be teaching her something and her response is completely in another direction. She just gets side tracked easily and talks a lot. Patience is a virtue.

Dan and Delia. They are so awesome. We had an amazing lesson on the Plan of Salvation and covenants. Delia has some dementia but she really wants to be baptized haha I love her. Dan just had a major open heart surgery so he's in rehab 3 days a week and it'll be hard to find time to teach but I know God is a God of miracles!

We've been so blessed!!!! Sorry this is all about our friends but I think that's what I'll want to hear about the most when I go back and read these.

This week I was studying forgiveness. In guide to the scriptures it says that forgiveness means God cancels or sets aside a punishment for sin through the atonement of Jesus Christ.
There are three reasons why we should and need to forgive others. The first is that God is willing to forgive us!! If he can forgive us for the many things we've done wrong, we can forgive others. The second reason is that Jesus Christ already payed the price through his atoning sacrifice!! There is no reason to hold grudges against others when the law of justice is satisfied by our merciful Savior! The third reason comes from the words of Jesus Christ on the cross- "forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34) Christ lived a perfect, sinless life and somehow the people still crucified Him. He did nothing wrong but while He was literally on the cross, He pleaded with Heavenly Father to forgive them. I want to forgive like the Savior did. Think of how much more amazing the world would be if we humble ourselves and follow Christ's example to forgive! That's my challenge for everyone this week. Study and pray about it.

Also GENERAL CONFERENCE. I've literally been counting down the days. Don't miss a session! What the prophets are going to tell us is literally revelation from God for the next 6 months. SO EXCITED!! Ok I love you all so much bye.
