Week 16
Hellooo from Laguna Capistrano! That probably doesn't mean anything to anyone but our area covers a tiny bit of San Clemente so we're next door neighbors. My companion is Sister Miller (Nicole) and she's from Farmington crazy enough so I'm sure a lot of you know her. We knew each others friends but not each other so I'm really excited to be her companion!
God is so real because I've felt very at peace with everything this week. We're actually pink washing so we're replacing Elders. The amount of nerf guns in this apartment is unreal. I don't know why they needed so many. And I'm convinced we cover the greatest wards in the mission- the members are AMAZING like top tier. We have felt so much love and enthusiasm for missionary work from them.
Training is fun because she doesn't have any expectations for what missionary work looks like so we've been absolutely grinding mua ha ha. No one tell her. She's a natural at this thing and has a very strong testimony that always brings the spirit. I'm excited to learn a lot from Sister Miller!
Saying goodbye to Zoe was the saddest thing. We had a very spirit filled lesson with her on Tuesday. At the end she was teary and said "Remind me what do I need to do to be baptized?" So awesome. We stopped by some members to say goodbye and brought Luna to institute. She wrote me the sweetest letter I've ever read. I'll cherish that thing forever.
We've seen so many miracles!! We met a girl named Luisa our first night here and she is CRAZY. We've had 3 lessons with her so far and she's excited to learn more. We've made a few other friends and one came to church on Sunday! She ended up sending us a breakup text after (rest in peace) but I know she felt the spirit and it definitely helped build some member trust!
Overall I'm so grateful to be here. I've learned a lot about myself and my Savior. One of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon is Mosiah 24. Verse 13 says, "And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with my people and deliver them out of bondage." Have confidence in the covenants you have made! Study and lean on them. As I've come to have a better understanding of my covenants I've come to understand Jesus Christ even more.
