Week 9

I know everyone has been really excited to hear about transfers so... I'm staying!! YAY. There's another trainee coming into our district so I won't be the very newest missionary but I kind of enjoyed being the rookie like Lightning McQueen.

On 7/11 we went to get free slurpees of course and they were out. I don't know why I didn't learn my lesson from last year because we went to like 4 places and all were out. Note for next July: go at 8 am.

Apparently there's a concert at the pier every Thursday night and we went finding there so it was packed. There was a chica nicely bashing with us when the band played "you're so vain." It took everything in me not to sing "And all the girls dreamed that they'd be Ben's partner."

Camp Pendleton!! Coolest thing ever but a little sad looking. Almost like a dystopian movie. We went to church and I loved talking to the marines about what they do and how they found God through hardships. I think in another life I was a marine. We're meeting with one of them on Saturday for a first lesson! Also John Beck (former byu and Dolphins quarterback) spoke during sacrament. His talk was so good- lots about the spiritual capacity we build with incremental adversity.

Oh my goodness CRAZY miracle with a marine named Karyme. She'd been taught by the missionaries a few months ago before being stationed in Rhode Island and stopped responding to them. We found out she's coming back to Cali this week, so we called and had a long conversation with her. Basically set up daily scripture reads and at said scripture read yesterday, one thing led to another and she's on date for August 11th!!! Stay tuned.

Do you belive in miracles? The relief society teacher asked this when we were talking about healing, and I immediately thought of the movie Miracle (go watch).
President Nelson has said to seek and expect miracles and that "the Lord will bless you with miracles if you believe in Him, doubting nothing." Sister Hill and I went into this week with that mentality and high faith. Guess what we found? MIRACLES. So many! We saw so much success and even on the hard days we were able to push through by having this mindset. Seek and expect them!

Happy late birthday to my girl Avery J. Everyone bring her a cake and probably ice cream too.

Daily repentance is key. I love you all. Have a happy last half of July. Bye now
