Week 7

Ello. This week has been so good!! Shoutout to my favorite uncle Doug who dropped off some goodies at the stake center for us. He can testify that San Clemente is so pretty. I'm very grateful to be here!

On Monday we had a lesson with Ellie. She had two huge dogs in a cage who were barking like crazy so we said she could take them out since it was distracting... that was a mistake. One of them came full sprint at me and licked me right on the mouth then proceeded to lay on me/try to lick my face the rest of the lesson. I was half mortified half crying laughing. Sister Hill was being very serious to keep the spirit there but if you know me you know once I get laughing I can't stop. I had to bite my tongue to stop from bursting out while the tears rolled down my face. Safe to say there won't be another lesson at her house.

Our friend Zoe is progressing the most right now. She's so cool. We had a bible study with her at a park overlooking the ocean and it was awesomeee! We read in the bible about Christ's ressurection and ascention into heaven, then introduced the Book of Mormon to her and read about his descention from heaven in 3 Nephi 11 to see how they connect. We gave her a copy of the good book and assigned her a chapter to read so hopefully that goes well!

This week has had the greatest MUSIC! We were in a member lesson at a frozen yogurt place and jack johnson was playing the whole time. So good. Then in Alohana (my new favorite acai place of all time) they played the beatles!! I was in heaven. And an Elder in our zone reminded me of my love for rex orange county so I've been singing his songs non stop.

As for a spiritual thought, we lost our keys yesterday after stake conference and were panicking looking around for 30 minutes. People started helping us and finally someone was like "You've prayed right?" We had not so we went into a room and I was like Sister Hill I bet we're going to find the keys right after we pray... sure enough not even 30 seconds later the people helping came up to us with our keys they'd found. When those kids bear their testimonies in church about praying for lost toys they're not messing around. Heavenly Father was reminding us of that. So remember to pray even for the little things.

I'm excited for this upcoming week. We have lots of spiritual momentum going into it with high faith and high charity. The skies are blue, the sun is out, I can feel good things coming! Sister Mortensen over and out.
