Week 6
What a week. I've never had so much new information and experiences thrown at me in a single week but it's been awesome!
It's a mission rule that we aren't allowed to touch the sand, but fhe on Monday was at the beach so we got permission to go!! We had a new convert lesson right before fhe, so the 3 of us sat on the sand, stared at the ocean, and taught about the gospel of Jesus Christ. So pretty and spirit filled. San Clemente is beautiful and being in a ysa area is lots of fun so I'm soaking in every second!
Since Sister Hill is an stl, we've had lots of meetings especially this first week of the transfer. It's amazing to me how a group of 20ish year olds can be so focused and so dedicated to doing something that requires a lot of sacrifice. Basically I love missionary work. There is so much good that comes from it. I started a "what I'm learning" journal and there's many things already that doing this work has taught me.
Zone conference was on Wednesday. SO GOOD. I loved seeing the few people I know and I'm excited to keep making friends in this mission family. There were so many great lessons and insights shared. One main point was becoming a consecrated missionary! Won't get into it but basically so ready to be ALL IN and work harder than ever in my life.
We put two people on date for baptism from this week! Ellie and Liz. Many miracles seen with them. They're both going through some tough things right now so keep them in your prayers to follow through and find peace! Also met the coolest guy named Mark yesterday. He actually reached out to the missionaries on facebook himself and ended up coming to 4 hours of church. We're thinking he'll be put on date next week so that's super exciting!!
Sorry this email is all over the place, but this spiritual thought is something I heard or read multiple times throughout the week in different ways so I think the Lord is trying to tell me something here. D&C 6:32 says, "I said unto my disciples, where two or three are gathered together in my name, as touching one thing, behold, there will I be in the midst of them—even so am I in the midst of you." I know Jesus Christ is in the midst of all of us. It's so comforting to know that while we're out here finding in parking lots or knocking doors he's right here beside us every step of the way. Someone said in zone conference that if we take a leap of faith Jesus will catch us and I'm constantly reminding myself of that. We just need to lean on Him! No matter where we are in life or what we're doing, Christ is there to walk alongside us and catch us when we fall.
Shoutout to my dad for being the greatest example to me. He's always been extremely supportive and invested in everything I do. I love the way his mind works- very thoughtful and wise. If you ever need council he's the one to call. We've had lots and lots of laughs together haha I love you dad! Happy Father's day!
