Week 14

What is up everybody. This week was both amazing and really challenging. We had some awesome lessons- Hailey brought her brother Oliver (17) to a few lessons and he's so cool. After Hailey left for college, we passed Oliver off to the Elders and they said he wants to know the doctrine so he can serve a mission. We love the ripples.

Zoe texted us last week saying she was "really thinking about baptism" so in our next lesson we taught the doctrine of baptism and she was like yes. We put her on date!! But then 22 hours later she decided she didn't want to go through with it because of how busy she is... but then said she wants to keep meeting with us! It was a rollercoaster. I have faith she'll realize the "time sacrifice" isn't a sacrifice but a blessing. Stay tuned.

We got our DBIDS passes for base so we can get in without a sponser! They had to search our car while we stood off to the side and I wondered what they thought of the many Books of Mormon, pamphlets, and Jesus cards that are scattered throughout. I'm sure it was a sight to see.

Sister Hill and I are soaking up all the time we can while we're together this last week (probably) before transfers. I haven't talked about her enough in these emails. We're besties. We laugh a lot and are constantly talking which is crazy considering the fact that we're together 24/7. Our teaching and contacting unity is awesome sauce and vibes are good. I'm very very grateful for her. One of her many talents is explaining movies play by play so if you ever get the chance definitely ask her about White Christmas.

We had two exchanges this week. One was an stl exchange so I was with my girl Sister Driggs who is in Chinese work up north. My Chinese name is suin or something like that. It was fun, she taught me a lot about how to testify of Jesus Christ in every sentence.

Friday was one of my toughest days in the field. I was having a hard time staying present and putting my energy into what I was doing in the moment. I was feeling really homesick in a way. Something I love about hard days is the good days are that much sweeter and God is so real!

We went to one of the marines baptisms on Saturday to help out. It was so awesome. The spirit was very present and vibes were good. We went to base after and taught a few lessons. And both wards on Sunday were great as usual yayay.

This week I was talking with a Sister about the two parts of baptism- by water and the Holy Ghost. She was saying how baptism by water is to cleanse us to be worthy to recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost and I loved that perspective. Moroni 8:26 says, "And the remission of sins bringeth meekness, and lowliness of heart; and because of meekness and lowliness of heart cometh the visitation of the Holy Ghost, which Comforter filleth with hope and perfect love, which love endureth by diligence unto prayer, until the end shall come, when all the saints shall dwell with God." I want to pick apart this verse because I love it so much but I invite you all to do so!

Transfer news is on Saturday so I'll check in on Monday and let yall know what the dealio is. I love everyone and am so excited to work hard this week!! Have a great last week of summer or first week of school!
