Week 10

I'm going to be honest this week was a blur. I'm questioning if it even happened or if it was all a dream. Good thing I write in my journal... brb

Ah yes so we met this guy in the parking lot who was pretty chill but had his own faith and wasn't interested in learning more. He gave us his girlfriends number though (always always ask for referals) and we've been having lessons with her!! Her name is Luna and she's super cool. At our first lesson, we asked her to read 3 Nephi 11 before we met again and she'd read all the way to 16! An angel on earth.

During finding one day, we prayed and asked Heavenly Father to have the spirit guide our feet. We were walking along, trying to let the spirit guide, and came right up to this lady. She ended up being a member but said there was a ysa girl playing her guitar in the tunnel (which was pretty far off from where we were) that we should go talk to. We went and she was SO COOL!! Got her digits and gave her a Book of Mormon. Let the spirit lead and guide!

We stayed in the same zone but switched districts so now we're with the 4 Spanish elders. It's honestly hilarious. They're going to teach us the entire Spanish language in a single transfer so no more gringa and her holas.

People are strange, when you're a stranger. I'm always subconsciously singing songs, so when I was singing that this week I realized how applicable it is to us missionaries. We came across a very strange guy when we were tracting... he looked like the old man Marley from home alone before Kevin knew he was a good guy. Very wide eyed and intense.

Yesterday was one of my favorite Sundays on the mission. Very spirit filled. The area 70 taught Sunday school and asked "what is agency?" Someone responded saying it was the ability to choose. He pointed us to Moses 7:32-33 which says "I gave unto man his agency...that they should choose me, their Father." That made me think of 2 Nephi 2:25, "Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy." So yes, He gave us agency to be able to make our own choices, but ultimately it was so we would choose Him because that is where we find true joy.

My mom sent me my ukulele this week so hopefully I'll be a ukulele legend by the end of the mission. Also I have a panasonic camera but I never really use it because I don't know how to get the pictures off without getting an app. If anyone knows how to do this I would be very grateful for some direction so I actually use it more.

Serve someone this week! Lots of love from Sister Mortensen
